Weekly Overview

In the past week COVID-19 infection rates have decreased across all London boroughs. Even though restrictions have eased, there are still a number of people catching COVID-19 every day. It is important to not only receive the vaccine when eligible, but also to make every effort to ensure our communities are safe. We can control the spread of COVID-19 whilst out and about by continuing to follow the guidance on ‘hands, face, space, testing and fresh air’. 
  • The total number of new cases in week 37 (6th – 12th September 2021) was 532, this is down by 13 since previous week.
  • The weekly incidence rate (new cases) per 100,000 population for the latest week is 190, a decrease from previous week (week 36).
  • As of the 30th of August, a total of 337 deaths in Camden have been COVID-19 related. There has been 0 COVID-19 related deaths in the latest week of data.
  • As of the 18th September, 156,070 of Camden residents have received at least their first dose of vaccine.
  • London's R number as of the 17th  September was 0.9 to 1.1. This means on average every 10 people infected will infect between 9 and 11 other people. If the R value is above 1 the pandemic is growing, if it is below 1 the pandemic is shrinking.
