The PNA looks at the current provision of pharmacies in Camden and how well they meet residents’ needs. It includes information on each of the pharmacies in the borough, including their opening hours, the types of services offered, and how frequently the services are used.

The focus of this year’s APHR is ‘Healthy Ageing: Working together to improve wellbeing in later life’.

The concept of healthy ageing captures the broad range of factors that influence the health and wellbeing of older adults, including the wider determinants of wellbeing. This year’s annual report summarises what we know about older adults living in Camden and Islington, and their health, wellbeing and quality of life.

The report considers the current challenges and opportunities under each of the following four key themes:
• Quality of life, including being connected and feeling valued
• Environments that promote and support healthy ageing
• Key life transitions into and during older age
• Accessible, responsive and joined up health and care services when needed.

This Public Health Intelligence Profile analyses patterns of alcohol-specific hospital admissions in Camden in 2014/15. In Camden in 2014/15, 519 individuals aged 18 years and over were admitted to hospital specifically because of alcohol. These individuals resulted in 896 alcohol-specific hospital admissions and 3,639 days spent in hospital.

This public health intelligence profile provides an overview of life expectancy and cause of death by various demographic indicators like age, sex, deprivation, country of birth, place of death and ward in Camden and Islington.

This report has been produced by public health as part of the St Pancras and Somers Town Partnership, and describes a series of insights from local residents and wider stakeholders around what makes it easy or hard to eat well and be physically active in the St Pancras and Somers Town ward.

A newly published analysis using the Electronic Frailty index (eFI) identifies the number of older people with severe, moderate and mild frailty in Camden.

The analysis shows that about a third of the older people (65+), registered in the Camden’s GP practices, have a mild frailty and at high risk of fall-related admissions, enabling preventative measures to be put in place.

This work will inform the Clinical Commissioning Group to develop an integrated care pathway for older people with frailty by considering individual vulnerability rather than by age alone.
