This statement is a review of the 2016 Camden and Islington Public Health position statement, in line with the new evidence reported by PHE.
This updated statement is endorsed by the Breathe Stop Smoking Service operating in both Camden and Islington and by Camden and Islington Public Health.

Unequal impact of COVID-19: BAME disproportionality
Addressing the disproportionate impact of the pandemic is a shared endeavour and we want our residents, particularly our Black, Asian, and minority ethnic residents, to play an active role in our response.

This slide pack shows that we will support them to do so by:
• Using cross-channel communications tactics and reaching out to all Camden residents to make sure everyone is informed and given the opportunity to engage;
• Encouraging residents to share their lived experience of Covid-19 and help us garner the evidence we need to take action;
• Encouraging residents to work with us and our partners to shape and deliver the actions in our plan and act as a critical friend to make sure we stay true to our objectives and deliver the change we are promising.

The profiles provide a snapshot across the demographic data from the national census, giving background to the differing characteristics of the 5 primary school planning areas.

This updated profile incorporate the most recent ward data available from population forecasts, from surveys and from administrative data to give the best current view of the local population. They include current population and forecast changes; household income levels and deprivation; local workplace employment levels; levels of welfare claimants and unemployment benefit recipients; life expectancy and crime.

Under the Transparency Code 2015, local authorities must publish details of the value of social housi ng stock that is held in their Housing Revenue Account. The government has issued guidance on the format of this data which does not lend itself easily to open data formats, hence publication as an xlsx file.

A new wards structure comes into effect from 1 January 2022. Data from the 2011 Census has been 'best fit' to the new wards to give some idea about the demographics for the new areas. The file includes a map of the areas and is indexed by the names of the 20 new wards.

This is our first analysis of the gender pension gap and looks at gender gaps for both current pensioners and current staff that are active (contributing) members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
